Join our team as a school companion
Join our team – as a school companion with heart and purpose
We’re looking for dedicated individuals who want to support children with special needs in their everyday school life. Whether you have experience in education or are a career changer – we’re not looking for the perfect résumé, but for people ready to take responsibility and grow together.
From day one, you’ll receive professional guidance, hands-on onboarding, and become part of a supportive team. Because good accompaniment isn’t just about knowledge – it’s built on trust, empathy, and collaboration.
Here’s how it works
New school companions receive thorough onboarding and are supported by experienced colleagues and our educational team lead.
This helps them get to know the daily routines at school and build strong working relationships with teachers and parents.
All new school companions begin with a mandatory basic training that covers key topics such as communication, data protection, child safeguarding, and working with different support needs (e.g. autism, ADHD).
Regular advanced training sessions help ensure the quality and professionalism of our work.
Our educational team lead provides professional guidance to all staff, offers support with questions, and assists in preparing reports and documentation.
Regular supervision and team meetings encourage exchange and reflection on our work.
To work in this role, you’ll need to provide an extended police clearance certificate (§ 30a BZRG) with no entries.
This document is legally required and serves to protect the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.
Since March 1, 2020, Germany has a legal measles vaccination requirement. All staff working in schools or similar institutions must provide proof of sufficient measles immunity.
Individuals born before 1970 are exempt from this requirement.
We welcome dedicated individuals who want to support children in their everyday school life.
Please send your application to info@schulbegleiter-pro-nrw.de or use our online form.
